JDRF Pays Tribute to Outstanding Supporters

Cheryl Rivers was among the honorees on April 28^th2012, marking the 25^th anniversary of “A Starry Starry Night” in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This year the Manitoba chapter of JDRF paid tribute to individuals that have demonstrated an outstanding degree of support to JDRF and overall philanthropic giving. This fundraiser has raised over $4.5 million for Juvenile Diabetes research.

The 25^th anniversary Black Tie Gala recognized and thanked all the past chairs of the spectacular event for their hard work and dedication.

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease that predominantly strikes in childhood, adolescence or young adulthood, and lasts a lifetime. JDRF is the world’s largest funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research. Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1, JDRF has funded more than $1.4 billion in diabetes research.
