Annual Conference Inspires Attendees

Procurity’s professional development conference brought together hundreds of Canadian pharmacists, owners, technicians, managers and retail staff June 3-4 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Transitions 2006 kicked off with world-renowned speakers including Dr. David Foot and Mr. Stephen Lewis, who set the stage for an engaging and inspiring event. 

Recognized by the National Post as one of the most highly sought-after and recognized influencers today, keynote speaker Dr. David Foot spoke on planning for the future by recognizing the powerful role demographics play in shaping the economy and business. Mr. Stephen Lewis, former Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations, spoke on how independent pharmacy can build healthy communities by focusing on leadership, accountability and advocacy.

The Annual Conference theme for this year, Transitions 2006, reflected the event’s evolution from an annual buying show to a full professional development conference focusing on both the business and practice of independent and community pharmacy. Featuring thought leadership, retail innovation, networking and CEU accredited courses, the two-day event also showcased seasonal wholesale products, new product campaigns and launches. Attendees chose from three distinct conference tracks: executives and owners; practicing pharmacists and technicians; and retail/front store managers and staff.
